We live in a world where the idea of Greatness has been corrupted. The social media has defined the mindset of many youths on what it means to be great. The race for material acquisition is on.

To God’s children, His Word says in Romans 12: 2. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

What does it mean to be great? We will be missing it if we define Greatness as having 30 billion naira in one’s account or owning a house in Banana Island. These are not the definition of Greatness. We can’t use the parameter of this word to label Greatness. We must look at Greatness the way God wants us to look at it.

Understand that the world has defined Greatness for the youths, hence they have put unnecessary pressure on themselves. Paul told Timothy in 1 Timothy 6: 6.”But godliness with contentment is great gain”. Be godly and be contented with what you have. Destiny is gotten from destination and it means the end point.

1 Timothy 2: 1-4 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

The desire of God for humanity is to be saved. We have to experience full salvation and come to the knowledge of the truth. Great Men and women are individuals who believe in God. Greatness is first before God, before you find it before men. Know that there is only one mediator, that is Jesus (1Tim 2:6). The man or woman who is saved is already great.

Salvation has come to give us the nature of God. (2Cor 5:12-16, Eph 1:3). The Greatness of man will fade away but the Greatness of God is eternal. Reflect on 1Sam 16:1-7, then you will know that God judges Greatness by who we are but man judges Greatness by what you have and by appearance. Salvation may not be a ticket to riches here on earth but it can change your nature of being eternally saved. In salvation, we have eternal riches.

Remember that prayer does not generate money, work generate money. It says, “Isaac sowed in the land”. He puts his hand to work. We need to pray because prayer will generate ideas on how we can make money. And we put our hands to work, then God blesses that work.
As a youth, you must avoid shortcut. Stop gambling, it will fuel in you an unholy desire for money.

1 Timothy 6: 10. “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows”. It is my prayer that we will experience full salvation first. With this we have the seed of Greatness in us. God has destined His children for greatness in Jesus’name Amen.
